February 12 Devotional
Dearly Beloved,
Ever get the feeling that you’re in a mental and spiritual tug-of-war? So many people and things constantly pulling at us, vying for our attention. Many of these attention grabbers are certainly necessary, but many are not. The media fills our minds with tons of messages that quite often are not healthy for our spiritual well being. It’s hard to avoid them completely, but when you turn your focus to Christ, during prayer time and throughout your busy day, all is in divine order. You are thinking in Spirit and your words and actions will reflect your spiritual focus. Be blessed in this my friends! Peace and Love, Scott

I Am Ever So Near You, hovering over your shoulder, reading every thought. People think that thoughts are fleeting and worthless, but yours are precious to Me. I smile when you think lovingly of Me. My Spirit, who lives within you, helps you to think My thoughts. As your thinking goes, so goes your entire being.
Daily Devotional from “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young
Let Me be your positive Focus. When you look to Me, knowing Me as God with you, you experience Joy. This is according to My ancient design, when I first crafted man. Modern man seeks his positive focus elsewhere: in sports, sensations, acquiring new possessions. Advertising capitalizes on the longing of people for a positive focus in their lives. I planted that longing in human souls, knowing that only I could fully satisfy it. Delight yourself in Me; let Me become the Desire of your heart.
Matthew 1:23 23″The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”
Psalm 37:4 4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Dear Friends,
Love this new sermon series “Finisher”. As I watch our olympic hopefuls bring all they’ve got to the olympic stage, I am inspired by their tireless commitment to their sport. Hours and hours are spent perfecting each move, training their bodies to not only endure, but excel. We, as Christians, are in training too! Every day is an “event” of sorts. Our “performance” is really up to us individually. Our coach, Jesus, is always there to encourage us, help us and pick us up when we fall. What’s important is to get up, dust ourselves off and keep trying! Don’t give up! The prize awaits in heaven! Be blessed on your quest friends. Peace and Love, Scott

My Peace is like a shaft of golden Light shining on you continuously. During days of bright sunshine, it may blend in with your surroundings. On darker days, My Peace stands out in sharp contrast to your circumstances. See times of darkness as opportunities for My Light to shine in transcendent splendor. I am training you to practice Peace that overpowers darkness. Collaborate with Me in this training. Do not grow weary or lose heart.

John 1:4-5 4In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. 5And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

Dear Friends,
Time with God. Sometimes, this is forced upon us through an illness or other circumstance. Most of the time, it is something we have to make time for. I love the second paragraph of this devotional. As a guy who is constantly “on the go” and all for good reasons, it’s important to think about the value of what I’m doing in light of the eternal Kingdom. This is a great question to ask before I say “yes” to something. What sort of Kingdom building value does this act have? Chew on that a while and let me know your thoughts! Be blessed dear ones, Scott

Trust Me Enough to spend time with Me, pushing back the demands of the day. Refuse to feel guilty about something that is so pleasing to Me, the King of the universe. Because I am omnipotent, I am able to bend time and events in your favor. You will find that you can accomplish more in less time, after you have given yourself to Me in rich communion. Also, as you align yourself with My perspective, you can sort out what is important and what is not.
Daily Devotional from “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young
Don’t fall into the trap of being constantly on the go. Many, many things people do in My Name have no value in My kingdom. To avoid doing meaningless works, stay in continual communication with Me. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
Luke 10:41-42 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Dear Friends,
R and R. We were designed for it. Our Lord modeled it for us, both in the creation of the universe (who wouldn’t need some rest after that!) and as He ministered to His people. Christ simply says “Come to me and rest.” In this product driven world, it’s important to simply “come” just as you are and take a breather. Christ is ready to receive and to renew. Make time for Him and for YOU! Peace and Love, Scott

Come To Me And Rest. I am all about you, to bless and restore. Breathe Me in with each breath. The way just ahead of you is very steep. Slow down and cling tightly to My hand. I am teaching you a difficult lesson, learned only by hardship.
Lift up empty hands of faith to receive My precious Presence. Light, Life, Joy, and Peace flow freely through this gift. When your focus turns away from Me, you grasp for other things. You drop the glowing gift of My Presence as you reach for lifeless ashes. Return to Me; regain My Presence.
Matthew 11:28-29 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
1 Timothy 2:8 8 I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

Dear Friends,
A beautiful devotional to remind us to order our thoughts on Him for true peace, joy and life. It’s a choice we can make each and every day, hour and minute of our lives. Peace and Love, Scott

Seek My Face, and you will find not only My Presence but also My Peace. To receive My Peace, you must change your grasping, controlling stance to one of openness and trust. The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My hand. Ask My Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts, for the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and Peace.
You can have as much of Me and My Peace as you want, through thousands of correct choices each day. The most persistent choice you face is whether to trust Me or to worry. You will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust Me no matter what. I am an ever-present help in trouble. Trust Me, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
Romans 8:6 6The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.
Psalm 46:1-2 1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

Dear Friends,
It’s a cold, wet and rainy day. But, as this beautiful devotional reminds me, I give thanks for it! We need the rain to make things grow. And, it makes the sun that much more brilliant and beautiful when it comes out this afternoon. So, just like the weather, all we truly can control is our response to whatever comes our way. Thankfulness and trust are the keys to having a great day in the Lord’s presence. I pray you find this to be so for you and yours. Peace and Love, Scott

Bring Me Your Weakness, and receive My Peace. Accept yourself and your circumstances just as they are, remembering that I am sovereign over everything. Do not wear yourself out with analyzing and planning. Instead, let thankfulness and trust be your guides through this day; they will keep you close to Me. As you live in the radiance of My Presence, My Peace shines upon you. You will cease to notice how weak or strong you feel, because you will be focusing on Me. The best way to get through this day is step by step with Me. Continue this intimate journey, trusting that the path you are following is headed for heaven.
Psalm 29:11
11 The Lord gives strength to his people; theLord blesses his people with peace.Numbers 6:24-26 24 ‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. 25 May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.26 May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’
Psalm 13:5 5 But I Trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

Dear Friends,
We all live in a world dominated by fear. It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos and the fear-mongering perpetuated by the world wide web, television and radio. It’s what we see and hear coming from the airwaves that drives our fears. However, Christ says something completely different–“fix your eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen.” God knows you and He knows what you need. That’s comforting isn’t it! So, take this day and every day as a gift from God our Heavenly Father. Be blessed. Be at peace. Love and Hope Abounds! Yours, Scott

I Am With You And For You. You face nothing alone-nothing! When you feel anxious, know that you are focusing on the visible world and leaving Me out of the picture. The remedy is simple: Fix your eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. Verbalize your trust in Me, the Living One who sees you always. I will get you safely through this day and all your days. But you can find Me only in the present. Each day is a precious gift from My Father. How ridiculous to grasp for future gifts when today’s is set before you! Receive today’s gifts gratefully, unwrapping it tenderly and delving into its depths. As you savor this gift, you find Me.
Romans 8:31 31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
2 Corinthians 4:18 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Genesis 16:13 13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
