January 27 Devotional

Dear Friends,
As I write this from my sick bed, it is a gentle reminder that we are indeed on a journey with many twists and turns.  Yes, the pathway to God is straight and narrow, but life has a funny way of creating many obstacles that threaten to cause us to loose our way. Trust God.  Keep your eyes toward the prize and if you wander from the path, pray and fight without ceasing to get back on the way that leads to life!  Be blessed friends!  Hugs and Love, Scott

Trust Is A Golden Pathway To Heaven. When you walk on this path, you live above your circumstances. My glorious Light shines more brightly on those who follow this path of lifeDare to walk on the high road with Me, for it is the most direct route to heaven. The low road is circuitous: twisting and turning in agonizing knots. There the air hangs heavy, and dark, ominous clouds predominate.Relying on your own understanding will weigh you down. Trust in Me absolutely, and I will make you path straight.

John 14:1-2 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
Proverbs 3:5-6 3Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

January 22 Devotional

Dear Friends,
This is a great reminder that God’s ways are indeed higher than our ways.  We can spend unending hours fretting, countless dollars in therapy and endless days wondering “why”, when, in fact, we should just say “I trust you Lord”.  Trust and let go.  I pray you find peace in this.  Blessings Friends, Scott

Strive To Trust Me in more and more areas of your life.  Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity.  Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties.  If you believe that I am sovereign over every aspect of your life, it is possible to trust Me in all situations.  Don’t waste energy regretting the way things are or thinking about what might have been.  Start at the present moment-accepting things exactly as they are-and search for My way in the midst of those circumstances.

Trust is like a staff you lean on, as you journey uphill with Me.  If you are trusting in Me consistently, the staff will bear as much of your weight as needed.  Lean on, trust, and be confident in Me with all your heart and mind.

Psalm 52:8 8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP)
5Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

January 20 Devotional

Dear Friends,
This is a great devotional to start off any day.  So many times we attempt to be “the boss”, when it is really God who is “boss” over our lives.  So, when your plans don’t quite work out, give thanks and take a step back to see what God is doing in your life.  And, above all, know that God has great plans for you.  Relax, take a deep breath and hang on to what God is doing in your life.  Peace and Love, Scott

Approach This Day With Awareness Of Who Is Boss.  As you make plans for your life.  On days when things go smoothly, according to your plans, you may be unaware of My sovereign Presence.  On days when your plans are thwarted, be on the lookout for Me!  I may be doing something important in your life, something quite different from what you expected.  It is essential at such times to stay in communication with Me, accepting My way as better than yours.  Don’t try to figure out what is happening. Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it all.  I know the plans I have for you, and they are good.

Isaiah 55:9 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

January 17 Devotional

Dear Friends,
It takes about 30 minutes of watching the news or reading articles on the internet to send my mind and my spirit into a tailspin.  Not that I want to stick my head in the sand and ignore the world around me, but God did say to be in the world but not of the world.  So, how do we do that?  I think today’s devotional gives us some clues.  Read on and receive the peace that God has for you.  Be blessed friends!  Love, Scott

Come To Me With A Thankful Heart, so that you can enjoy My Presence.  This is the day that I have made.  I want you to rejoice today, refusing to worry about tomorrow. Search for all that I have prepared for you, anticipating abundant blessings and accepting difficulties as they come.  I can weave miracles into the most mundane day if you keep your focus on Me.

Come to Me with all your needs, knowing that My glorious riches are a more-than-adequate supply.  Stay in continual communication with Me, so that you can live above your circumstances even while you are in the midst of them. Present your requests to Me with thanksgiving, and My Peace, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your heart and mind.

Philippians 4:19 19And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Dear Friends,
As you continue in Christ, rest in His unfailing love and know that you are never alone.  Be blessed!  Love, Scott

Come To Me, and rest in My loving Presence.  You know that this day will bring difficulties, and you are trying to think your way through those trials.  As you anticipate what is ahead of you, you forget that I am with you-now and always.  Rehearsing your troubles results in experiencing them many times, whereas you are meant to go through them only when they actually occur.  Do not multiply your suffering in this way!  Instead, come to Me, and relax in My Peace.  I will strengthen you and prepare you for this day, transforming your fear into confident trust.

Matthew 11:28-30 28″Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Joshua 1:5
5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 1:9
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

January 15 Devotional

Dear Friends,
I love that image of Peter walking out to Jesus on the lake.  First of all, they thought Jesus was a ghost.  So Peter said “If it is you, tell me to come to you on the water”.  Peter starts out with an attitude of doubt before he even sets foot on the water!  He briefly overcomes his doubt and fear, but then the wind starts to blow and he immediately reverts back to his doubtful ways.  Jesus called his faith “little” and asked “why did you doubt”?Peter saw first hand the miracles Jesus had performed.  He listened to His teachings.  Heard His stories.  Ate, drank and slept with the King of Kings, yet he was “of little faith”.  I’d ask why he doubted too.  You and I see miracles every day.  We know the stories of the Bible and what it teaches.  We eat and drink with Him when we take Holy Communion.  Why do we doubt?  May you have peace and faith today and every day.  Love, Scott

My Face Is Shining Upon You, beaming out Peace that transcends understanding. You are surrounded by a sea of problems, but you are face -to-Face with Me, your Peace. As long as you focus on Me, you are safe. If you gaze too long at the myriad problems around you, you will sink under the weight of your burdens. When you start to sink, simply call out “Help me, Jesus!’ and I will lift you up.

The closer you live to Me, the safer you are. Circumstances around you are undulating, and there are treacherous-looking waves in the distance. Fix your eyes on Me, the One who never changes. By the time those waves reach you , they will have shrunk to proportions of My design. I am always beside you, helping you face today’s waves. The future is a phantom, seeking to spook you. Laugh at the future! Stay close to Me.

Philippians 4:77And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 14:3030But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cries out, “Lord, save me!”

Hebrews 12:2 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
