June 4th Devotional

Dear Beloved,
It’s going to be a busy day today!  As usual, we have much to accomplish in a short amount of time.  As Annual Conference quickly approaches, our entire staff and hundreds of volunteers are gearing up for our 1000+ guests.  If you’ve ever hosted a party at your home, you know the anxiety and excitement that comes with having company.  So, today’s devotional is particularly timely as we all take a deep breath and know that any challenges that come our way will be met not on our own power, but by the power of God through the Holy Spirit.  That’s comforting!  My we each have that perfect peace that only God can give today and every day.  Hugs!  Scott

Welcome Challenging Times as opportunities to trust Me.  You have Me beside you and My Spirit within you, so no set of circumstances is too much for you to handle.  When the path before you is dotted with difficulties, beware of measuring your strength against those challenges.  That calculation is certain to riddle you with anxiety.  Without Me, you wouldn’t make it past the first hurdle!

The way to walk through demanding days is to grip My hand tightly and stay in close communication with Me.  Let your thoughts and spoken words be richly flavored with trust and thankfulness.  Regardless of the day’s problems, I can keep you in perfect Peace as you stay close to Me.

James 1:2  2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

Philippians 4:13
13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Isaiah 26:3  3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

June 3rd Devotional

Dear Friends,
Peace cancels out fear and worry.  Where does peace come from?  It comes from staying focused on God and trusting His ways above our ways.  Be blessed as you continue on your journey of peace, love, joy and hope.  Love, Scott

I Want To Be Central in your entire being.  When your focus is firmly on Me, My Peace displaces fears and worries.  They will encircle you, seeking entrance, so you must stay alert.  Let trust and thankfulness stand guard, turning back fear before it can gain a foothold.  There is no fear in My Love, which shines on you continually. Sit quietly in My Love-Light, while I bless you with radiant Peace.  Turn your whole being to trusting and loving Me.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

1  John 4:18  18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

June 2 Devotional

Dear Friends,
This beautiful devotional encourages us to “relax and enjoy” God’s presence and control over our lives.  I don’t know about you, but I find it difficult to “relax and enjoy” an average working day.  Maybe you’re like me and just hope to survive the day, much less relax and enjoy it!  What I have found over the years of intentionally training myself to “let go and let God”, is that my stress level is somewhat less when I simply say “if it is God’s will, then it will happen”.  Now, I can only say this when I’ve done all I can and my utmost to be faithful to God and others.  So, today, I give God this day and my list of things to do.  God help me to be faithful to the call and to you.  Peace and Love, Scott

Let Me Show You

My way for you this day.  I guide you continually, so you can relax and enjoy My Presence in the present.  Living well is both a discipline and an art.  Concentrate on staying close to Me, the divine Artist.  Discipline your thoughts to trust Me as I work My ways in your life.  Pray about everything; then, leave outcomes up to Me.  Do not fear My will, for through it I accomplish what is best for you.  Take a deep breath and dive into the depths of absolute trust in Me.  Underneath are the everlasting arms!

Psalm 5:2-3  2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.  3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

Deuteronomy 33:27
27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, ‘Destroy him!’

May 29 Devotional

Dear Friends,
It was great being in worship with you yesterday.  Yes, we rehearsed, but we also worshiped!  How wonderful to gather with other believers to spend time with God, with each and to make new friends.  Through every trial, it is good to know we are not alone.  We have our loving Savior and each other to share joys, sorrows and other burdens in our lives.  To me, each of you are “giants” on whose shoulders I stand on to see things a little more clearly.  My Father’s Kingdom here on earth.  Share the love with others and I’ll see you on Sunday!  Peace, Scott

I Am With You, watching over you constantly.  I am Emmanuel (God with you): My Presence enfolds you in radiant Love.  Nothing, including the brightest blessings and the darkest trials, can separate you from Me.  Some of My children find Me more readily during dark times, when difficulties force them to depend on Me.  Others feel closer to Me when their lives are filled with good things.  They respond with thanksgiving and praise, thus opening wide the door to My Presence.

I know precisely what you need to draw nearer to Me.  Go through each day looking for what I have prepared for you.  Accept every event as My hand-tailored provision for your needs.  When you view your life this way, the most reasonable response is to be thankful.  Do not reject any of My gifts; find Me in every situation.

Matthew 1:23 23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”

Colossians 2:6-7
6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

May 28 Devotional

Dear Friends,
There are times that I sense my smallness and God’s greatness.  A beautiful sunrise or sunset.  Seeing countless stars in the heavens.  Looking at the ocean.  God is all around us and in us.  Be blessed in this as you pause to bathe in God’s amazing greatness!  Peace and Love, Scott
____________________________________________________

Let Me Anoint You with My Presence.  I am King of kings and Lord of lords, dwelling in unapproachable Light.  When you draw near to Me, I respond by coming closer to you.  As My Presence envelops you, you may feel overwhelmed by My Power and Glory.  This is a form of worship: sensing your smallness in comparison to My Greatness.

Man has tended to make himself the measure of all things, But man’s measure is too tiny to comprehend My majestic vastness.  That is why most people do not see Me at all, even though they live and move and have their being in Me.

Enjoy the radiant beauty of My Presence.  Declare My glorious Being to the world!

1 Timothy 6:15-16 15 For at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. 16 He alone can never die, and he lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach him. No human eye has ever seen him, nor ever will. All honor and power to him forever! Amen.

James 4:8 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

Acts 17:28 28 For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

Psalm 145:3-6  3 Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. 4 Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. 5 I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. 6 Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness.

Dear Friends,
It’s not to late to put Christ on you and in you for the day!  May God bless you as you wear righteousness through Him.  Peace and Love, Scott
________________________________________________________

Seek My Face at the beginning of your day.  This practice enables you to “put Me on” and “wear Me” throughout the day.  Most people put on clothes soon after arising from bed.  Similarly, the sooner you “put Me on” by communicating with Me, the better prepared you are for whatever comes your way.

To “wear Me” is essentially to have My mind; to think My thoughts.  Ask the Holy Spirit to control your thinking: be transformed by this renewal within you.  Thus you are well equipped to face the people and situations I bring your way.  Clothing your mind in Me is your best preparation for each day.  This discipline brings Joy and Peace to you and those around you.

Psalm 27:8 8 My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”

Romans 13:14
14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

Colossians 3:1212 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

May 22nd Devotional

Dear Friends,

Ah yes.  The challenge of acceptance of God’s ultimate plan for our lives.  We think of here and now.  God thinks of eternity.  Don’t get me wrong.  We are in the “here and now” and are experiencing it fully.  Eternity is truly impossible to grasp.  So, be of good cheer.  Have faith and receive the peace that only He can give.  Love, Scott

When Things Don’t Go as you would like, accept it immediately.  If you indulge in feelings of regret, they can easily spill over the line into resentment.  Remember that I am sovereign over your circumstances, and humble yourself under My mighty hand.  Rejoice in what I am doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding.

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  In Me you have everything you need, both for this life and for the life yet to come.  Don’t let the impact of the world shatter your thinking or draw you away from focusing on Me.  The ultimate challenge is to keep fixing your eyes on Me, no matter what is going on around you.  When I am central in your thinking, you are able to view circumstances from My perspective.

1 Peter 5:6 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

John 14:6
6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
