March 11 Devotional

Dear Friends,
I love today’s devotional!  It comes at the perfect time when feelings of being overwhelmed are creeping in.  As Holy Week approaches, we are all digging deep to stay healthy, stay alert and to stay the course.  In this way, we truly share the cross with our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Lean on our Heavenly Father for strength and guidance.  Be blessed dear ones!  Hug and Love, Scott

Walk By Faith, Not By Sight.   As you take steps of faith, depending on Me, I will show you how much I can do for you.  If you live your life too safely, you will never know the thrill of seeing Me work through you.  When I gave you My Spirit, I empowered you to live beyond your natural ability and strength.  That’s why it is so wrong to measure your energy level against the challenges ahead of you.  The issue is not your strength but Mine, which is limitless.  By walking close to Me, you can accomplish My purposes in My strength.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Galatians 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

March 9 Devotional

Dear Friends,
I love the phrase, “a cushion of calm”.  That’s what living a Christ-centered life provides.  Calm in the midst of the storm.  Perhaps you’ve seen variations on the 1939 poster from Britain “Keep Calm and Carry On”.  I have yet to see a t-shirt or poster that said “Keep Praying and Carry On” or “Keep Christ and Keep Calm”….But, that is what God is calling us to do.  May you be blessed and find the quiet calm in your life today!  Hugs, Scott

Rest In My Radiant Presence.  The world around you seems to spin faster and faster, till everything is a blur.  Yet there is a cushion of calm at the center of your life, where you live in union with Me.  Return to this soothing Center as often as you can, for this is where you are energized: filled with My Love, Joy, and Peace.

The world is a needy place; do not go there for sustenance.  Instead, come to Me; learn to depend on Me alone, and your weakness will come saturated with My Power.  When you find your completeness in Me, you can help other people without using them to meet your own needs.  Live in the Light of My Presence, and your light will shine brightly into the lives of others.

Galatians 5:22 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

1John 4:12
12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

March 8 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Ah.  Daily discovering the will of God.  This can be tricky!  Today’s devotional is clear about one thing as we strive to do the will of God.  “Seek me first and the rest will fall into place!”  Still a bit vague if you ask me, but a good start!  Peace and Love, Scott

Save Your Best Striving For Seeking MY FACE. I am constantly communicating with you. To find Me and hear My voice, you must seek Me above all else. Anything that you desire more than Me becomes an idol. When you are determined to get your own way, you blot Me out of your consciousness. Instead of single-mindedly pursuing some goal, talk with Me about it. Let the Light of My Presence shine on this pursuit, so that you can see it from My perspective. If the goal fits into My plans for you, I will help you reach it. If it is contrary to My will for you, I will gradually change the desire of your heart. Seek Me first and foremost, then the rest of your life will fall into place, piece by piece.

1 Chronicles 16:11  11 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Matthew 6:33 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

March 7 Devotional

Dear Friends,
What a great day of worship we all had yesterday!  Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon (the new Family Experience) and finally, Harvest America with 100K worshippers and thousands of souls coming to Christ.  What a day!  And all of heaven rejoiced!  Even as wonderful as all of this was, we each had our own battles to overcome personally.  But, God was with us and was our constant helper.  The prayer I often say is “God, I’ve done my best.  The rest is up to you.”  And, I give it to God.  May you be blessed as you “give it to God” today and every day.  Peace and Love, Scott

Let Me Help You through this day.  The challenges you face are far too great for you to handle alone.  You are keenly aware of your helplessness in the scheme of events you face.  This awareness opens up a choice: to doggedly go it alone or to walk with Me in humble steps of dependence.  Actually, this choice is continually before you, but difficulties highlight the decision-making process.  So,consider it all joy whenever you are enveloped in various trials.  These are gifts from Me, reminding you to rely on Me alone.

Psalm 63:7-8 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.  My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

James 1:2-3 (AMP) 2Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. 3Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

March 4 Devotional

Dear Friends,
I love the last line of this devotional:  “Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay.”   I personally have had a LOT on my mind recently.  I have my own personal “March Madness” going on and I have to admit it has disturbed my sleep for several nights.  I lie in bed thinking about all kinds of things, then I try to calm myself down with prayer.  Sometimes it works.  Sometimes it doesn’t.  However, even if I can’t fall back to sleep, conversations with God is always time well spent!  Pray for me as I pray for you as together, with the help of Christ and the Holy Spirit, keep those nasty worry wolves far, far away.  Peace and Love, Scott

Refuse To Worry! In this world there will always be something enticing you to worry That is the nature of a fallen, fractured planet:Things are not as they should be. So the temptation to be anxious is constantly with you, trying to worm its way into your mind. The best defense is continual communication with Me, richly seasoned with thanksgiving.Awareness of My Presence fills your mind with Light and Peace, leaving no room for fear. This awareness lifts you up above your circumstances, enabling you to see problems from My perspective. Live close to Me! Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay.

Luke 12: 25-26 “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you can not do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
