March 4 Devotional

Dear Friends,
I love the last line of this devotional:  “Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay.”   I personally have had a LOT on my mind recently.  I have my own personal “March Madness” going on and I have to admit it has disturbed my sleep for several nights.  I lie in bed thinking about all kinds of things, then I try to calm myself down with prayer.  Sometimes it works.  Sometimes it doesn’t.  However, even if I can’t fall back to sleep, conversations with God is always time well spent!  Pray for me as I pray for you as together, with the help of Christ and the Holy Spirit, keep those nasty worry wolves far, far away.  Peace and Love, Scott

Refuse To Worry! In this world there will always be something enticing you to worry That is the nature of a fallen, fractured planet:Things are not as they should be. So the temptation to be anxious is constantly with you, trying to worm its way into your mind. The best defense is continual communication with Me, richly seasoned with thanksgiving.Awareness of My Presence fills your mind with Light and Peace, leaving no room for fear. This awareness lifts you up above your circumstances, enabling you to see problems from My perspective. Live close to Me! Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay.

Luke 12: 25-26 “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you can not do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

March 2 Devotional

Dear Beloved,
Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly now.  Not tomorrow.  Not when we feel better.  Abundant life is unconditional, just like His love.  So, no matter the circumstances, abundant life is your for the taking right now!  That’s a great feeling isn’t it!  I pray you and your loved ones are blessed by the abundant life found in Christ today and every day!  Peace and Love, Scott

I Am The Resurrection And The Life; all lasting Life emanates from Me. People search for life in many wrong ways: chasing after fleeting pleasures, accumulating possessions and wealth, trying to deny the inevitable effects of aging. Meanwhile, I freely offer abundant Life to everyone who turns toward Me. As you come to Me and take My yoke upon you, I fill you with My very Life. This is how I choose to live in the world and accomplish My purposes. This is also how I bless you with Joy unspeakable and full of Glory. The Joy is Mine, and the Glory is Mine; but I bestow them on you as you live in My Presence, inviting Me in fully in you.

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.”

Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

1 Peter 1:8-9 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

March 1 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Each week, I am sent pages of prayer requests from our church family and friends associated with our church family.  The Open Door Prayer Ministry does an outstanding job of keeping track of all the requests that come in and being faithful prayer warriors for each person listed.  I just read the prayer requests today and sent them on to my staff for them to read and pray over as well.  Many times, the requests are a bit overwhelming.  So much pain, suffering and even death are listed on those pages.  Yet, through it all, we know that God is with us and in that, we can find peace and reassurance.  I pray this for you today and every day as you embrace life from a Christ-centered, soul-anchored, joyful spirit.

When Something In Your Life Or Thoughts Makes You Anxious, come to Me and talk about it. Bring me your prayer and petition with thanksgiving, saying: “Thank You,Jesus, for this opportunity to trust You more.” Though the lessons of trust that I send to you come wrapped in difficulties, the benefits far outweigh the cost.

Well-developed trust will bring you many blessings, not the least of which is My Peace. I have promised to keep you in perfect peace to the extent that you trust in Me. The world has it backwards, teaching that peace is the result of having enough money, possessions, insurance, and security systems. My Peace, however, is such an all-encompassing gift that it is independent of all circumstances. Though you lose everything else, if you gain My Peace you are rich indeed.

Philippians 4:6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Isaiah 26:3You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trust in you.

February 29th Devotional

Dear Friends,
Happy February 29th!  It’s a leap year and this particular day only comes around once every 4 years.  I guess it’s special in that way.  But then again, every day is special and an opportunity to connect with God and each other.  When you’re not quite sure what to do, you can be sure that following Christ is a step in the right direction!  Peace and Love, Scott

You Are On The Right Path. Listen more to Me, and less to your doubts.  I am leading you along the way I designed just for you.  Therefore, it is a lonely way, humanly speaking. But I go before you as well as alongside you, so you are never alone.  Do not expect anyone to understand fully My ways with you, any more than you can comprehend My dealings with others.  I am revealing to you the path of Life day by day, and moment by moment.  As I said to My disciple Peter, so I repeat to you: Follow Me.

Psalm 119:105 Your Word is a lamp and a light for my path.

John 21:22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”

Harvest America choir music

Here are the links to watch the youtube videos of the songs we will be singing! Remember that you are essentially on your own to learn this music. We have one more short rehearsal next Wednesday night at 8:30pm, but it would be best for you to be very familiar with it and almost memorized! We don’t really know what to expect, and who knows what the light will be like, and everyone will want to see your faces (and we can’t do that if we are buried in our music). Please spend some time with your music in hand and with these videos!

We will lead two songs with Chris Tomlin:

“Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)” Chris Tomlin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y–4NFvI5U9w&list=RDY–4NFvI5U9w
