April 7 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Thank you all so much for your faithfulness last night!  We got a lot done, had some great fun and fellowship to boot!  I am never unsure of God’s will for me when I am at rehearsal with His people.  Maybe you feel the same?  No matter what other issues might be going on in your personal life, when you are singing His praises with other believers, I can’t help but think that you are doing God’s will in that very moment.  So, if you’re ever wondering what the will of God is on a Wednesday night, I think you’d be safe coming to rehearsal!  Peace and Love, Scott
__________________________________________________________

I Am The Potter; you are My clay. I designed you before the foundation of the world. I arrange the events of each day to form you into this preconceived pattern. My everlasting Love is at work in every event of your life. On some days your will and Mine flow smoothly together. You tend to feel in control of your life when our wills are in harmony. On other days you feel as if you are swimming upstream, against the current of My purposes. When that happens, stop and seek My Face. The opposition you feel may be from Me, or it may be from the evil one.

Talk with Me about what you are experiencing. Let My Spirit guide you through treacherous waters. As you move through the turbulent stream with Me, let circumstances mold you into the one I desire you to be. Say yes to your Potter as you go through this day.

Isaiah 64:8 Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Psalm 27:8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord I will seek.

April 6 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Ever been around someone who only sees the negative in the world around them?  They focus on what’s “wrong” instead of what’s “right”.  It’s kinda exhausting to be around folks like that!  Jesus tells us to be people of light and to thank God in all things and for all things.  So, when you’re tempted to focus on what you don’t have, shift your focus to what you DO have!  And, believe me, we have MUCH to be thankful for!  Peace and Love, Scott

___________________________________________________________

Bring Me The Sacrifice of thanksgiving. Take nothing for granted, not even the rising of the sun. Before Satan tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden, thankfulness was as natural as breathing. Satan’s temptation involved pointing Eve to the one thing that was forbidden her. The garden was filled with luscious, desirable fruits, but Eve focused on the one fruit she couldn’t have rather than being thankful for the many good things freely available. This negative focus darkened her mind, and she succumbed to temptation.

When you focus on what you don’t have or on situations that displease you, your mind also becomes darkened. You take for granted life, salvation, sunshine, flowers, and countless other gifts from Me. You look for what is wrong and refuse to enjoy life until that is “fixed.”

When you approach Me with thanksgiving, the Light of My Presence pours into you, transforming you through and through. Walk in the Light with Me by practicing the discipline of thanksgiving.

Psalm 116:17 17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the LORD.

Genesis 3:2-6
2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”  4 “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

John 1:7
7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe.

April 4 Devotional

Dear Friends,
After a very busy couple of weeks, it’s great to pause, seek some stillness and some silence, and just be with God.  Don’t get me wrong!  I love the music, the drama etc. etc.  It’s thrilling in so many ways and awe inspiring.  But nothing compares to the stillness of communing with God.  I pray you make time for that today and every day!  Peace and Love, Scott
______________________________________________________________

I Meet You in the stillness of your soul.  It is there that I seek to commune with you.  A person who is open to My Presence is exceedingly precious to Me.  My eyes search to and fro throughout the earth, looking for one whose heart is seeking Me.  I see you trying to find Me; our mutual search results in joyful fulfillment.

Stillness of soul is increasingly rare in this world addicted to speed and noise.  I am pleased with your desire to create a quiet space where you and I can meet. Don’t be discouraged by the difficulty of achieving this goal.  I monitor all your efforts and am blessed by each of your attempts to seek My Face.

Zechariah 2:13 13 Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.”

2 Chronicles 16:9 (KJV)  9For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Psalm 23:2-3 (NKJV)He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.  3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness; For His name’s sake.

Anthems for Sunday! If you are singing on Sunday-please take a look at this!

Due to weather, we had a small turnout for choir last night. If you were not able to make it, please know that you were missed!

This Sunday at 11am we have the great honor of singing as a part of the Confirmation service. 85 students will be confirmed and we will have many guests in our service! Last night we started on a brand new anthem “This I Believe”. Unfortunately, last night was the only time we get to rehearse it before Sunday, so if you are planning on singing on Sunday at 11, please go to this blog post to hear the recording and find the individual parts! It is not a difficult song, but we want to have a large choir and present our best to the many visitors that will be coming!

We also have the privilege to lead worship at 8:15am, and for those that are singing at 8:15- we are doing a different song! We will be singing “I Can See”. Here are individual parts that we recorded for you in 2013 🙂

1 soprano

2 Soprano

Alto

tenor

bass

Hope this helps!

March 28 Devotional

Dear Friends,
My, what a glorious Lenten season we shared, culminating on a most triumphant Easter morning!  You all poured yourselves out like a drink offering to those that attended, and indeed they were blessed!  I can’t thank you all enough for your faithfulness and servant hearts.  May God continue to bless you and your families as we share life together through our beloved church.  I am humbled by you and ever so grateful.  He is Risen!  He is Risen Indeed!  Peace and Love, Scott
______________________________________________________________

I Am A God Who Gives and gives and gives.  When I died for you on the cross, I held back nothing; I poured out My Life like a drink offering.  Because giving is inherent in My nature, I search for people who are able to receive in full measure.  To increase your intimacy with Me, the two traits you need the most are receptivity and attentiveness.  Receptivity is opening up your innermost being to be filled with My abundant riches.  Attentiveness is directing your gaze to Me: searching for Me in all your moments.  It is possible to stay your mind on Me,as the prophet Isaiah wrote.  Through such attentiveness you receive a glorious gift: My perfect Peace.

Philippians 2:17
17But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.

Mark 10:15
15I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)
3You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

March 22 Devotional

Dear Friends,
As we continue our journey together during Holy Week, today’s devotional is particularly timely as we carefully plan our rehearsals and services this week.  During the process, it’s important that we trust God to do His work through us.  All we ultimately have to do is be faithful.  That takes a lot of the pressure off doesn’t it?  And, our attitude of gratitude in all things will surely sustain us, giving us peace and comfort.  Thank you all for your faithfulness during this Lenten season.  I wouldn’t want to go down this path with any others!  Peace and Love, Scott

Rejoice And Be Thankful!  As you walk with Me through this day, practice trusting and thanking Me all along the way. Trust is the channel through which My Peace flows into you. Thankfulness lifts you up above your circumstances.

I do My greatest works through people with grateful, trusting hearts. Rather than planning and evaluating, practice trusting and thanking Me continually. This is a paradigm shift that will revolutionize your life.

Psalm 95:2
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

Psalm 9:10 10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
