February 13 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Today is Ash Wednesday and marks the beginning of the Lenten season.  I think this devotional is fitting as together we walk the path to the cross with Christ and celebrate His resurrection on Easter.  I give thanks for each of you and your dedication to this journey.  There is much strength in numbers, so let’s support each other, pray for each other and be blessed as partners in ministry for the Kingdom and Glory of God!  Amen and amen!

Give Yourself Fully to the adventure of today.  Walk boldly along the path of Life, relying on your ever-present Companion.  You have every reason to be confident, because My Presence accompanies you all the days of your life-and onward into eternity.  Do not give in to fear or worry, those robbers of abundant living.  Trust Me enough to face problems as they come, rather than trying to anticipate them.  Fix your eyes on Me, the Author and Perfecter of your faith, and many difficulties on the road ahead will vanish before you reach them.  Whenever you start to feel afraid, remember that I am holding you by your right hand.  Nothing can separate you from My Presence!

Hebrews 12:2 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Isaiah 41:14 14 Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel,  for I myself will help you,” declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

February 12 Devotional

Dear Friends,
This is an absolutely beautiful devotional.  Every word is so true!  Living and thinking in the Spirit is the only way to truly be happy on earth.  Eventually, we will return to our Father and our spirits will truly be one.  But for now, we all have to work at living in the Spirit.  Be careful of your thoughts, for they lead to words and actions.  It’s easy to underestimate the power of thoughts and words.  Remember who breathed life into you!  Our breath comes from the Creator of the universe.  That’s an awesome power and responsibility.  And, as you search for meaning and happiness, know that true joy only comes from our strong relationship with our Lord and Savior, not things, not other people, not power, not wealth.  God and God only.  Read on for inspiration!  Peace, Love and Grace be Yours, Scott

I Am Ever So Near You, hovering over your shoulder, reading every thought.  People think that thoughts are fleeting and worthless, but yours are precious to Me.  I smile when you think lovingly of Me.  My Spirit, who lives within you, helps you to think My thoughts.  As your thinking goes, so goes your entire being.

Let Me be your positive Focus.  When you look to Me, knowing Me as God with you, you experience Joy.  This is according to My ancient design, when I first crafted man.  Modern man seeks his positive focus elsewhere: in sports, sensations, acquiring new possessions.  Advertising capitalizes on the longing of people for a positive focus in their lives.  I planted that longing in human souls, knowing that only I could fully satisfy it.  Delight yourself in Me; let Me become the Desire of your heart.

Matthew 1:23 23″The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”

Psalm 37:4 4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

February 11 Devotional

Dear Friends,
True peace is a treasure from our Heavenly Father given to us through trust and faith.  This peace is not earthly or bound to earthly circumstances.  That is why it is so elusive to non believers.  Deep peace transcends all the powers of darkness and bursts through pain, suffering and even death itself.  Accept this amazing gift and share it with others.  Be a light in the darkness today and every day!  Peace and Love, Scott

My Peace is like a shaft of golden Light shining on you continuously. During days of bright sunshine, it may blend in with your surroundings. On darker days, My Peace stands out in sharp contrast to your circumstances. See times of darkness as opportunities for My Light to shine in transcendent splendor I am training you to practice Peace that overpowers darkness. Collaborate with Me in this training. Do not grow weary or lose heart.

John 1:4-5 4In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. 5And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

Hebrews 12:3 3  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

February 7 Devotional

Dear Friends,

Thank you all for your presence in choir, orchestra and bells last night.  We got a LOT done and had fun too!  I appreciate your hard work and commitment to the worship arts ministry here.  I love partnering with you all in being conduits for the Holy Spirit!  Amen!  I pray you all will get some rest this weekend.  Take care of yourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually.  And always remember that Christ is there, waiting for you with open arms.  Peace and Love, Scott

Come To Me For Rest and refreshment.  The journey has been much for you, and you are bone-weary.  Do not be ashamed of your exhaustion.  Instead, see it as an opportunity for Me to take charge of your life.

Remember that I can fit everything into a pattern for good, including the things you wish were different.  Start with where you are at this point in time and space, accepting that this is where I intended you to be.  You will get through today one step, one moment, at a time.  Your main responsibility is to remain attentive to Me, letting Me guide you through the many choices along your pathway.

This sounds like an easy assignment, but it is not.  Your desire to live in My Presence goes against the grain of “the world, the flesh, and the devil.”  Much of your weariness results from your constant battle against these opponents.  However, you are on the path of My choosing, so do not give up!  Hope in Me, for you will again praise Me for the help of My Presence.

Romans 8:28 (AMP) 28We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

Psalm 42:11 (NASB) 11Why are you in despair, O my soul?  And why have you become disturbed within me?  Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

February 6 Devotional

Dearly Beloved Friends,

I love the fact that Christ is always inviting us to “come and rest”, “come all you who are thirsty”, “come and follow”….Invitations are exciting events!  It requires a response from the invitee.  Accept or reject.  It’s always been your choice.  So, I hope today and every day you RSVP with a resounding “yes”!  And even though there’s no expiration date on this invitation, the sooner you accept, the sooner joy, peace and love will be yours.  For Christ came that we might have life and have it abundantly.  Be blessed today my friends.  I invite you ALL to join me tonight for worship and rehearsal!  The choice is yours.  Hugs and Love, Scott

Come To Me And Rest.  I am all about you, to bless and restore.  Breathe Me in with each breath.  The way just ahead of you is very steep.  Slow down and cling tightly to My hand.  I am teaching you a difficult lesson, learned only by hardship.

Lift up empty hands of faith to receive My precious Presence.  Light, Life, Joy, and Peace flow freely through this gift.  When your focus turns away from Me, you grasp for other things.  You drop the glowing gift of My Presence as you reach for lifeless ashes.  Return to Me; regain My Presence.

Matthew 11:28-29  28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

1 Timothy 2:8  8 I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

Dear Friends,

May God control our hearts and minds through the power of the Holy Spirit!  Read on for inspiration and the means for a joyful life and never-ending peace……

Seek My Face, and you will find not only My Presence but also My Peace.  To receive My Peace, you must change your grasping, controlling stance to one of openness and trust.  The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My hand.  Ask My Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts, for the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and Peace.

You can have as much of Me and My Peace as you want, through thousands of correct choices each day.  The most persistent choice you face is whether to trust Me or to worry.  You will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust Me no matter what.  I am an ever-present help in trouble.  Trust Me, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

Romans 8:6 6The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

Psalm 46:1-2 1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

February 4 Devotional

Dear Friends,

This morning during our staff chapel time, pastor Mike reminded us that the first words Jesus said to His disciples as they cowered behind closed doors after the crucifixion, was “Peace be with you”.  He could have said any number of things, but ‘peace’ was what they all needed and He gave it to them.  I pray that in your weakness, you do indeed find peace as you give this day to the One who created the universe.  Be blessed friends as you bless others.  Peace and Love, Scott

Bring Me Your Weakness, and receive My Peace.  Accept yourself and your circumstances just as they are, remembering that I am sovereign over everything.  Do not wear yourself out with analyzing and planning.  Instead, let thankfulness and trust be your guides through this day; they will keep you close to Me.  As you live in the radiance of My Presence, My Peace shines upon you.  You will cease to notice how weak or strong you feel, because you will be focusing on Me.  The best way to get through this day is step by step with Me.  Continue this intimate journey, trusting that the path you are following is headed for heaven.

Psalm 29:11
11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Numbers 6:24-26  24 ‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. 25 May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. 26 May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’

Psalm 13:5   5 But I Trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
