March 19 Devotional

Dear Friends,
I love the gentle Spirit of Christ Jesus.  No condemnation.  Just love. Pure love.  Read below and be blessed!  Hugs, Scott

_____________________________________________
I Speak To You From The Depths Of Your Being.  Hear Me saying soothing words of Peace, assuring you of My Love.  Do not listen to voices of accusation, for they are not from Me.  I speak to you in love-tones, lifting you up.  My Spirit convicts cleanly, without crushing words of shame.  Let the Spirit take charge of your mind, combing out tangles of deception.  Be transformed by the truth that I live within you.

The Light of My Presence is shining upon you, in benedictions of Peace.  Let My Light shine in you; don’t dim it with worries or fears. Holiness is letting Me live through you.  Since I dwell in you, you are fully equipped to be holy.  Pause before responding to people or situations, giving My Spirit space to act through you.  Hasty words and actions leave no room for Me; this is atheistic living.  I want to inhabit all your moments-gracing your thoughts, words, and behavior.

Romans 8:1-2  1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

1 Corinthians 6:19 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Palm Sunday Play in Corsicana

Please join us for a special event this weekend!  Saturday, March 23 at 3:00 P.M. and Palm Sunday, March 24 at 3:00 P.M., a Palm Sunday pageant will be performed following the traditions of the medieval cycle plays.  The performance, titled “Clothed in Glory” (by Shellie O’Neal) will begin on the lawn at Corsicana’s First United Methodist Church.  The audience and actors will then proceed to a pageant waggon at Westminster Presbyterian Church, then to a waggon at St. John’s Church.  The crucifixion scene will be staged on the roof at St. John’s, and the resurrection scene will be staged at First Baptist Church.  The production will feature a cast of 43 (composed of Navarro College students and community citizens) and a chorus of 34, as well as live animals and other surprises!  Admission is free.  Please join us for this pilgrimage and unique theatrical experience.

March 18 Devotional

Dearly Beloved Friends,

All morning, I’ve been thinking about next week–Holy Week. This upcoming Sunday is Palm Sunday and marks the beginning of Holy Week, culminating on Easter. But this Easter is like none I’ve ever prepared for. This Easter will be different. It’s risky to leave the safety, comfort and familiarity of your home, but God did not call us to keep the Good News locked behind large oak doors at 777 N.Walnut Creek Drive did He? I love being stretched and challenged spiritually and emotionally. It is how we grow as a church and as His people. So, let’s take a deep breath together, trust that we’ll be ready and know that God is with us wherever we go. Preparation and trust….amen!

______________________________________________

Trust Me One Day At A Time. Trust keeps you close to Me, responsive to My will. Trust is not a natural response, especially for those who have been deeply wounded. My Spirit within you is your resident Tutor, helping you in this supernatural endeavor. Yield to His gentle touch; be sensitive to his prompting.

Exert your will to trust Me in all circumstances. Don’t let your need to understand distract you from My Presence. I will equip you to get through this day victoriously, as you live in deep dependence on Me. Tomorrow is busy worrying about itself, don’t get tangled up in its worry-webs. Trust Me one day at a time.

Psalm 84:12 12 O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

Matthew 6:34 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Dear Friends,
What a beautiful love song we heard last night with our FSU kids!  Thank you all who hosted and attended the concert last night.  You really showed them love and true Texas hospitality.  I was very proud of our beautiful church and the outpouring of love to our guests.  Thank you Beth, Kathleen and the awesome hospitality crew that took such great care to make sure our kids where fed well and nurtured.  Many of you shared God is Big Enough wrist bands with your kids.  Thanks for doing that!  You never know what seeds you may have planted.  I took the liberty of praying a blessing on the FSU choir on their bus and took wrist bands to make sure that those that wanted one, got one.  You wouldn’t believe the response!  Kids were very eager to get theirs and thanked me profusely.  Really sweet.  So, thank YOU for opening up your homes to these wonderful FSU kids.  Our city just got a little bigger!
Peace, Scott

Listen To The Love Song that I am continually singing to you.  I take great delight in you… I rejoice over you with singing.  The voices of the world are a cacophony of chaos, pulling you this way and that.  Don’t listen to those voices; challenge them with My Word.  Learn to take minibreaks from the world, finding a place to be still in My Presence and listen to My voice.

There is immense hidden treasure to be found through listening to Me.  Though I pour out blessings upon you always, some of My richest blessings have to be actively sought.  I love to reveal Myself to you, and your seeking heart opens you up to receive more of My disclosure.  Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Zephaniah 3:17 17 The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

Matthew 7:7 7″Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Instructions for those hosting FSU Students

Please look for me (Beth LaMee) before or after the concert which begins at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary.  If you do not know who I am, look for the pregnant woman 🙂 I will have a gray name card for you to help your students find you after the concert.   You can meet your students in the choir room after the concert.  They may want to change before they eat. There will be food for them in the choir room and they may not have eaten, so they may need a little time to grab a bite and collect their things.

Please serve them breakfast in the morning. They will need to be back at the church around 8am on Friday unless plans change.

If you have any questions, please give me a call at (757)869-3789. That is my cell and I will have it with me at all times!

Thank you again for opening up your homes to these students! I know that you will be a huge blessing to them!
