November 14 Devotional

Dear Beloved Friends,
So often I find that folks just want to be understood and listened to.  We spend many countless hours trying to make our case to convince others and to make our opinion known so that our will might be done.  What if we spent a little more time talking to God and listening to His Holy Spirit so that His will might be done?  He loves us unconditionally and only wants good things for us, so you have nothing to loose.  No hidden agenda with God!  Be righteous with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. May God bless you on the path from glory to glory, just as He created you to be.  Peace and Love, Scott

Bask In The Luxury of being fully understood and unconditionally loved.  Dare to see yourself as I see you: radiant in My righteousness, cleansed by My blood.  I view you as the one I created you to be, the one you will be in actuality when heaven becomes your home.  It is My Life within you that is changing you form glory to glory.  Rejoice in this mysterious miracle!  Thank Me continually for the amazing gift of My Spirit within you.

Try to depend on the help of the Spirit as you go through this day of life.  Pause briefly from time to time so you can consult with this Holy One inside you.  He will not force you to do His bidding, but He will guide you as you give Him space in your life.  Walk along this wondrous way of collaboration with My Spirit.

Psalm 34:5 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

2 Corinthians 5:21
21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 3:18
(NKJV) 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Galatians 5:25 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Dear Friends,

When was the last time you “bubbled over with joy”?  The Spirit of Christ that dwells within each of you is a radiant light of love, hope, peace and joy.  This unbreakable bond between us is reason enough to be joyful and to share that joy with others.  We have all we need.  We have Christ and a relationship with Him, our Creator and the Spirit living in each of us.  Rejoice and be glad dear friends!  Peace, Scott

I Am Christ In You, the hope of glory.  The One who walks beside you, holding you by your hand, is the same One who lives within you.  This is a deep, unfathomable mystery.  You and I are intertwined in an intimacy involving every fiber of your being.  The Light of My Presence shines within you, as well as upon you.  I am in you, and you are in Me; therefore, nothing in heaven or on earth can separate you from Me!

As you sit quietly in My Presence, your awareness of My Life within you is heightened.  This produces the Joy of the Lord, which is your strength.  I, the God of hope, fill you with all Joy and Peace as you trust in Me, so that you may bubble over with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 1:27 27To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Isaiah 42:6
6 “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,

Nehemiah 8:10
10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Romans 15:13 (AMP)
13May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.

Dear Abundantly Blessed Friends,

Yes, you are rich indeed and blessed beyond measure!  If you don’t believe this truth, then you’re probably focusing on the wrong meaning of “rich” and “blessed” and just maybe, your perspective might be incorrect as well.  Take a moment to think about all the blessings in your life.  If you named them one by one, you’d easily fill a page or two.  Give and it will be given to you, for how can God bless you when your hand is closed?  Open hands are free to receive what God so desperately wants to give you.  So, open up and then receive.  Peace, Scott

____________________________________________________________

This Is A Time Of Abundance in your life.  Your cup runneth over with blessings.  After plodding uphill for many weeks, you are now traipsing through lush meadows drenched in warm sunshine.  I want you to enjoy to the full this time of ease and refreshment.  I delight in providing it for you.

Sometimes My children hesitate to receive My good gifts with open hands.  Feelings of false guilt creep in, telling them they don’t deserve to be so richly blessed.  This is nonsense thinking, because no one deserves anything from Me.  My kingdom is not about earning and deserving; it’s about believing and receiving.

When a child of Mine balks at accepting My gifts, I am deeply grieved.  When you receive My abundant blessings with a grateful heart, I rejoice.  My pleasure in giving and your pleasure in receiving flow together in joyous harmony.

Psalm 23:5 (KJV) 5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

John 3:16
16″For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Luke 11:9-11
9″So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 11″Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?

Romans 8:32
32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Dear Friends,

It’s human nature to automatically plan and assess our personal “to do” list each morning.  It was the first thing I started doing when I woke up this morning.  But, maybe prayer should be the first thing I do instead?  Perhaps a prayer like this:  “Lord, I give you thanks for another day to serve you and your people.  You know what this day will bring and what needs to be done.  Lead me, guide me and strengthen me to do your will in all things.  I trust you and your unending power to sustain me no matter what comes my way.  In all things, I give you honor and glory for what you do through me.  Amen.”  Just wish I would have thought of this earlier.  No time like the present!  And, thank God, tomorrow is another day!  Peace and Love, Scott

Do Not Let any set of circumstances intimidate you.  The more challenging your day, the more of My Power I place at your disposal.  You seem to think that I empower you equally each day, but this is not so.  Your tendency upon awakening is to assess the difficulties ahead of you, measuring them against your average strength.  This is an exercise in unreality.

I know what each of your days will contain, and I empower you accordingly.  The degree to which I strengthen you on a given day is based mainly on two variables: the difficulty of your circumstances, and your willingness to depend on Me for help.  Try to view challenging days as opportunities to receive more of My Power than usual.  Look to me for all that you need, and watch to see what I will do. As your days, so shall your strength be.

Ephesians 1:18-20 18I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms

Psalm 105:4 4 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

Deuteronomy 33:25 (NKJV)
25 Your sandals shall beiron and bronze; As your days, so shall your strength be.

Dear Friends,

I used to think that I was a person with a spirit/soul.  Now, I feel as if I’m a Spirit with a temporary body.  This body is reminded that I am Spirit when I experience God’s presence around me and those strong emotions called love, joy and peace, among others.  My body also reminds me that I need God’s grace every day.  My Spirit cries out for grace and forgiveness.  As you go through this day, whatever trials and temptations come your way, remember that you, too, are Spirit and give thanks that through God, all things are possible. Be blessed dear ones!  Peace and Love, Scott

Learn To Appreciate difficult days.  Be stimulated by the challenges you encounter along your way.  As you journey through rough terrain with Me, gain confidence from your knowledge that together we can handle anything.  This knowledge is comprised of three parts: your relationship with Me, promises in the Bible, and past experiences of coping successfully during hard times.

Look back on your life, and see how I have helped you through difficult days.  If you are tempted to think, “Yes, but that was then, and this is now,” remember who I Am!  Although you and your circumstances may change dramatically, I remain the same throughout time and eternity.  This is the basis of your confidence. In My Presence you live and move and have your being.

Isaiah 41:10 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 102:27
27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

Acts 17:28
28’For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

November 7 Devotional

Dear Friends,

God is Working!  And boy is He!  I hope you’ve taken the time to see Him at work today.  I saw Him in the beautiful sunrise this morning.  I heard Him in the gentle humming of an elderly sister on an elliptical next to me at the Y.  We had no t.v., no music this morning during my workout.  Just the rhythm of folks on machines.  And then I heard her humming “Blessed Assurance”.  She did this for 15 minutes!  I thought about humming along or singing, but decided to just let her have her moment while I had mine.  She was living (and working) in Spirit.  May you be possessed today and every day as you seek Him and find Him.  Amen!

Worship Me in the beauty of holiness.  All true beauty reflects some of who I Am.  I am working My ways in you: the divine Artist creating loveliness within your being.  My main work is to clear out debris and clutter, making room for My Spirit to take full possession.  Collaborate with Me in this effort by being willing to let go of anything I choose to take away.  I know what you need, and I have promised to provide all of that-abundantly!

Your sense of security must not rest in your possessions or in things going your way.  I am training you to depend on Me alone, finding fulfillment in My Presence.  This entails being satisfied with much or with little, accepting either as My will or the moment.  Instead of grasping and controlling, you are learning to release and receive.  Cultivate this receptive stance by trusting Me in every situation.

Psalm 29:2 (KJV) 2Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Psalm 27:4
4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
