Confirmation 2014

We will be singing the song below for the Confirmation service on April 27th at 3pm. We have a great group of confirmation kids singing solos and this will be such a special time of worship for these kids and their families! Make plans to be there that afternoon!

April 9 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Problems come and problems go, but Christ remains!  We all have them–problems.  And, many times, problems need to be dealt with directly in order to fix them, but while focusing on problems, it’s important to not be consumed by them, which is easier said than done.  Focus on the presence of Christ, give the problems to Him and together, work on them.  Be blessed as you bathe in the light of Christ today and every day.  Peace and Love, Scott

You Are Mine For All Time

; nothing can separate you from My Love. Since I have invested My very Life in you, be well assured that I will also take care of you.When your mind goes into neutral and your thoughts flow freely, you tend to feel anxious and alone. Your focus becomes problem solving. To get your mind back into gear, just turn toward Me, bringing yourself and your problems into My Presence.

Many problems vanish instantly in the Light of My Love, because you realize you are never alone. Other problems may remain, but they become secondary to knowing Me and rejoicing in the relationship I so freely offer you. Each moment you can choose to practice My Presence or to practice the presence of problems.

April 8 Devotional

Dear Friends,
These are beautiful words and reassuring that Christ will never leave us or forsake us.  It also reminds me of Pastor Mike’s joke he’s told on a few occasions.  You remember it don’t you?  Old farmer in his beat up pick up truck, arm hanging out the driver’s window while his wife of many years sits across from him on the opposite side.  She sighs and says remember how we used to sit next to each other while driving down the road?  He replies “I ain’t moved!”  Be blessed!

I Am With You And For You, your constant Companion and Provider. The question is whether you are with Me and for Me. Though I never leave you, you can essentially “leave” Me by ignoring Me: thinking or acting as if I am not with you. When you feel distance in our relationship, you know where the problem lies. My Love for you is constant; Iam the same yesterday, today and  forever.  It is you who change like shifting sand, letting circumstances toss you this way and that.

When you feel far from Me, whisper My Name. This simple act, done in childlike faith, opens your heart to My Presence. Speak to Me in love-tones; prepare to receive My Love, which flows eternally from the cross. I am delighted when you open yourself to My loving Presence.

April 7th Devotional

Dear Friends,
Today’s devotional reminds me of that great song “Change My Heart, O God”.  It has the refrain “you are the potter, I am the clay, mold me and make me, this is what I pray”.  Beautiful words from a contrite heart ready and willing to be led by the Creator.  Many of you know that I swim at the Y every weekday.  It’s good exercise and it gives me a chance to pray while swimming along.  Some days, I seem to glide in the water, effortlessly.  Other days, it’s a bit of a struggle.  The important thing is that I keep swimming!  God’s will and our wills can sometimes be a bit of a struggle.  Determining where the push back is coming from can be tricky.  Talk to God about it and listen to your heart.  God won’t ever ask you to do something He can’t bless.  Peace and Love, Scott

April 3 Devotional

Dear Beloved,

I love the first two short sentences of today’s devotional.  It really says it all.  It is Christ who sustains, maintains and gives us peace, joy and unconditional love.  Like you, I want the entire world to have what we have…life complete in Christ.  Easter is coming!  The chains that would bind the world can be broken, but only through faith in Christ.  I pray that all who come will also come to know.  Peace and Love, Scott

In Me You Have Everything.  In Me you are complete. Your capacity to experience Me is increasing, through My removal of debris and clutter from your heart. As your yearning for Me increases, other desires are gradually lessening. After all, I created you and everything that is. The world is still at My beck and call, though it often appears otherwise.
