June 8th Devotional

Dear Friends,
If you’re blessed to have kids, you know full well the innate desire to “fix” any problems that come their way.  It’s so much more difficult to let them fix their own problems, but you and I know that this is where true growth happens.  And so it is with our heavenly Father.  It’s better to struggle a bit in the present to have long-term growth in the future.  So, lean on Jesus and know that any trials and tribulations you are feeling at this time are only temporary.  Be blessed!  Hugs, Scott

I Want You To Be All Mine, filled with the Light of My Presence.  I gave everything for you by living as a man, then dying for your sins and living again.  Hold back nothing from Me.  Bring your most secret thoughts into the Light of My Love.  Anything you bring to Me I transform and cleanse from darkness.  I know everything about you, far more than you know of yourself.  But I restrain My yearning to “fix” you, waiting instead for you to come to Me for help.  Imagine the divine restraint this requires, for I have all power in heaven and on earth.

Seek My face with a teachable spirit.  Come into My Presence with thanksgiving, desiring to be transformed.

Matthew 28:18 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Psalm 100:4 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

June 4 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Thank you all again for your faithfulness.  Having you lead in worship each week is pure joy for me and our congregation.  May God bless you for all the ways you serve Him every day and week.  One of the best things about the worship arts and our ensembles is sharing joys and concerns.  We all have them!  Sometimes just verbalizing them to our loving brothers and sisters helps ease the burden a bit.  And, of course, giving them to God is always a good thing!  Read on and be blessed!  Hugs, Scott

Welcome Challenging Times as opportunities to trust Me.  You have Me beside you and My Spirit within you, so no set of circumstances is too much for you to handle.  When the path before you is dotted with difficulties, beware of measuring your strength against those challenges.  That calculation is certain to riddle you with anxiety.  Without Me, you wouldn’t make it past the first hurdle!

The way to walk through demanding days is to grip My hand tightly and stay in close communication with Me.  Let your thoughts and spoken words be richly flavored with trust and thankfulness.  Regardless of the day’s problems, I can keep you in perfect Peace as you stay close to Me.

James 1:2  2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

Philippians 4:13
13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Isaiah 26:3  3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

June 3 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Today’s devotional paints a beautiful picture of God’s peace shining on us as we sit and bask in His glory.  No fear. Only love and peace.  Sign me up!  Hugs, Scott

I Want To Be Central in your entire being.  When your focus is firmly on Me, My Peace displaces fears and worries.  They will encircle you, seeking entrance, so you must stay alert.  Let trust and thankfulness stand guard, turning back fear before it can gain a foothold.  There is no fear in My Love, which shines on you continually. Sit quietly in My Love-Light, while I bless you with radiant Peace.  Turn your whole being to trusting and loving Me.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

1  John 4:18  18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

June 2 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Today’s devotional reminds us to “let go, relax, be still, and know that I am God”  So, when was the last time that happened for you?  It’s a state of being that has to be intentional or else it doesn’t happen.  Sometimes it seems that this state of mind is unreal.  I’ve even found myself saying “Well, that was nice.  Now back to reality!”  But, I think that even in our every day business, we can still “let go and let God”.  Be blessed as you continue to be with Him each and every day.  Peace and Love, Scott

Relax In My Healing, holy Presence.  Be still, while I transform your heart and mind.  Let go of cares and worries, so that you can receive My Peace.  Cease striving, and know that I am God.

Do not be like Pharisees who multiplied regulations, creating their own form of “godliness.”  They got so wrapped up in their own rules that they lost sight of Me.  Even today, man-made rules about how to live the Christian life enslave many people.  Their focus is on their performance, rather than on Me.

It is through knowing Me intimately that you become like Me.  This requires spending time alone with Me.  Let go, relax, be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10 (NASB) 10“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

1 John  3:2 2Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
