Anthem recordings

If you are not active on facebook and would like mp3s of the recordings sent to you, please email Beth at bethl@fmcm.org to add you to the list.

Please do this so I have a paper trail! I have a lot going on and will unlikely remember who told me what the following day 🙂

I do not mind doing it, but I need to know who needs it, so please let me know!

February 12 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Where is your mind today?  What is your focus?  Isn’t it amazing that life can sometimes get in the way of our relationship with Christ?  I know mine can.  So, what to do?  Find time, make time to spend with your Creator.  Delight in those precious moments.  And even in the little things, give God thanks and praise.  Peace and Love!  Scott

I Am Ever So Near You, hovering over your shoulder, reading every thought.  People think that thoughts are fleeting and worthless, but yours are precious to Me.  I smile when you think lovingly of Me.  My Spirit, who lives within you, helps you to think My thoughts.  As your thinking goes, so goes your entire being.

Let Me be your positive Focus.  When you look to Me, knowing Me as God with you, you experience Joy.  This is according to My ancient design, when I first crafted man.  Modern man seeks his positive focus elsewhere: in sports, sensations, acquiring new possessions.  Advertising capitalizes on the longing of people for a positive focus in their lives.  I planted that longing in human souls, knowing that only I could fully satisfy it.  Delight yourself in Me; let Me become the Desire of your heart.

Matthew 1:23 23″The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”

Psalm 37:4
4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

February 10 devotional

Dear Friends,
So much to do!  It’s Ash Wednesday, the busiest day of the year for us.  We have to have prepare for not only tonight’s service but also for Sunday’s service as well!  Head is spinning, mind is going a mile a minute….and then I stop to read today’s devotional–enough said.  I surrender.  See you all tonight!  Love and Hugs, scott

Trust Me Enough to spend time with Me, pushing back the demands of the day.  Refuse to feel guilty about something that is so pleasing to Me, the King of the universe.  Because I am omnipotent, I am able to bend time and events in your favor.  You will find that you can accomplish more in less time, after you have given yourself to Me in rich communion.  Also, as you align yourself with My perspective, you can sort out what is important and what is not.

Don’t fall into the trap of being constantly on the go.  Many, many things people do in My Name have no value in My kingdom.  To avoid doing meaningless works, stay in continual communication with Me.  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.

Luke 10:41-42
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Psalm 32:8 (NASB) 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.

February 9 Devotional

Dear Friends,
Ash Wednesday and our season of Lent begins officially tomorrow.  What a perfect time to journey with Christ on the road to the cross.  Yes, many hardships will come our way, but in the end, love wins!  Be blessed in this and know that God is with us.  Peace in Christ, Scott

Seek My Face more and more. You are really just beginning your journey of intimacy with Me. It is not an easy road, but it is a delightful and privileged way: a treasure hunt. I am the Treasure, and the glory of My Presence glistens and shimmers along the way. Hardships are part of the journey too. I mete them out ever so carefully, in just the right dosage, with a tenderness you can hardly imagine. Do not recoil from afflictions, since they are among My most favored gifts. Trust Me and don’t be afraid, for I am your Strength and Song.

Psalm 27:8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

Isaiah 12:2 Surely God is my salvation: I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord is my strength and my song: he has become my salvation.

February 5 devotional

Dear Friends,
This Sunday’s sermon is going to be wonderful!  Mike is preaching on things we should not do–worry, doubt, fear.  All of these human tendencies rob us of peace, joy and communion with God.  Pray for God to guide you and your spirit to a worry-free state of mind.  You’ll be blessed!  Hugs, Scott

Seek My Face, and you will find not only My Presence but also My Peace.  To receive My Peace, you must change your grasping, controlling stance to one of openness and trust.  The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My hand.  Ask My Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts, for the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and Peace.

You can have as much of Me and My Peace as you want, through thousands of correct choices each day.  The most persistent choice you face is whether to trust Me or to worry.  You will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust Me no matter what.  I am an ever-present help in trouble.  Trust Me, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

Romans 8:6 6The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

Psalm 46:1-2
1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
