What a GREAT Celebration!

I survived 10 years with Dr. Scott

As many of you know, this past Saturday/Sunday I celebrated 10 years with FUMC Mansfield. Can’t believe how quickly time has passed and, even more amazing, all the places we’ve gone and the mission work completed through the power of music! All in all, we’ve raised over 150K through concerts at Bass Hall and here in our sanctuary. We’ve gone on several trips including two appearances at Carnegie Hall with John Rutter, a trip to England/Scotland and recently, as Texas representatives at the Haydn Festival in 2009 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We’ve also recorded three cds: “Sanctuary”, “Peace, Peace” (our Chrsitmas cd) and recently “Carry the Light” which raised money for our Bass Hall concert and ZOE ministry’s “Giving Hope Program”. For those of you who have been with me during this 10 year ride and did not give up or complain (too much) I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your faithfulness and steadfast endurance are indeed inspirational! You deserve a medal! And, some of you have gotten your medal already. I’m still working on a few more for those that did not make it to the retreat, so fear not!

So, what’s ahead for the next 10 years? God only knows, but one thing for sure, we will keep singing, we will keep our instruments tuned for praise and we will proclaim the Good News of our Lord and Savior until we meet Him face to face and hear those beautiful words “well done thou good and faithful servant”. Amen!
