May 22 Devotional

Dear Friends,

We’ve all been subject to feelings of resentment in this life.  Jesus says to rejoice and trust in Him in all circumstances.  Peace and Love!  Scott

____________________________________________________

When Things Don’t Go as you would like, accept it immediately.  If you indulge in feelings of regret, they can easily spill over the line into resentment.  Remember that I am sovereign over your circumstances, and humble yourself under My mighty hand.  Rejoice in what I am doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding.

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  In Me you have everything you need, both for this life and for the life yet to come.  Don’t let the impact of the world shatter your thinking or draw you away from focusing on Me.  The ultimate challenge is to keep fixing your eyes on Me, no matter what is going on around you.  When I am central in your thinking, you are able to view circumstances from My perspective.

1 Peter 5:6 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

John 14:6  6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Dear Friends,

Anxiety and fear are those two evils that point to the distrust of the One who holds you in the palm of His hand.  Resist the temptation by praying and seeking God’s guidance through the Holy Spirit.  Be blessed and have a GREAT week!  Love, Scott

I, The Creator Of The Universe, am with you and for you.  What more could you need?  When you feel some lack, it is because you are not connecting with Me at a deep level.  I offer abundant Life; your part is to trust Me, refusing to worry about anything.

It is not so much adverse events that make you anxious as it is your thoughts about those events.  Your mind engages in trying to take control of a situation, to bring about the result you desire.  Your thoughts close in on the problem like ravenous wolves.  Determined to make things go your way, you forget that I am in charge of your life.  The only remedy is to switch your focus from the problem to My Presence.  Stop all your striving, and watch to see what I will do. I am the Lord!

Romans 8:31-32
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Micah 7:7 7 But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Beloved,

These are indeed beautiful words and a great reminder of God’s deep love and interest in us.  The trick is knowing the difference between our plans and God’s plans.  Let your prayers be for wisdom and discernment as you invoke the Holy Spirit to guide your words, thoughts and actions.  Peace and Love, Scott

Come To Me with your plans held in abeyance.  Worship Me in spirit and in truth, allowing My Glory to permeate your entire being.  Trust Me enough to let Me guide you through this day, accomplishing My purposes in My timing.  Subordinate your myriad plans to My Master Plan.  I am sovereign over every aspect of your life!

The challenge continually before you is to trust Me and search for My way through each day.  Do not blindly follow your habitual route, or you will miss what I have prepared for you.  As the heavens are higher than earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

John 4:24 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV) 8 “ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. 9 “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Dear Friends,

We had great rehearsals last night!  Brittany came back to play horn for us and Rhonda Whitmer came back, told us her amazing story and even had Rose, her mom, sing with us.  A great evening of fun, fellowship (Karen’s whip cream filled strawberries were outstanding!) and worship.  God is here!  Blessings friends, Scott

As You Sit Quietly in My Presence, remember that I am a God of abundance.  I will never run out of resources; My capacity to bless you is unlimited.  You live in a world of supply and demand, where necessary things are often scarce.  Even if you personally have enough, you see poverty in the world around you.  It is impossible for you to comprehend the lavishness of My provisions: the fullness of My glorious riches.

Through spending time in My Presence, you gain glimpses of My overflowing vastness.  These glimpses are tiny foretastes of what you will experience in heaven.  Even now you have access to as much of Me as you have faith to receive.  Rejoice in My abundance, walk by faith, not by sight.

Philippians 4:19 19And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:7 7We live by faith, not by sight.

Dear Friends,

I hope I’m not too late in getting this out to you!  Fact is, it’s never too late to re-focus your eyes and attention to God.  Make time!  Peace, Scott

__________________________________________________________

I Am Your Lord!  Seek Me as Friend and Lover of your soul, but remember that I am also King of kings-sovereign over all.  You can make some plans as you gaze into the day that stretches out before you.  But you need to hold those plans tentatively, anticipating that I may have other ideas.  The most important thing to determine is what to do right now.  Instead of scanning the horizon of your life, looking for things that need to be done, concentrate on the task before you and the One who never leaves your side.  Let everything else fade into the background.  This will unclutter your mind, allowing Me to occupy more and more of your consciousness.

Trust Me to show you what to do when you have finished what you are doing now.  I will guide you step by step, as you bend your will to Mine.  Thus you stay close to Me on the path of Peace.

Proverbs 19:21  21 Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Luke 1:79  79to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
