September 12 Devotional

Dear Friends,

Peace.  Love, Scott

___________________________________________________________

Receive My Peace.  It is My continual gift to you.  The best wayto receive this gift is to sit quietly in My Presence, trusting Me inevery area of your life.  Quietness and trust accomplishfar more than you can imagine: not only in you, but also on earth andin heaven.  When you trust Me in a given area, you release that problemor person into My care.

Spending time alone with Me can be a difficult discipline, becauseit goes against the activity addiction of this age.  You may appear tobe doing nothing, but actually you are participating in battles goingon within spiritual realms.  You are waging war-not with the weapons of the world, but with heavenly weapons, which have divine power to demolish strongholds.  Living close to Me is a sure defense against evil.

John 14:27  27Peace I leave with you; mypeace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not letyour hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Isaiah 30:15  15This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Inrepentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is yourstrength, but you would have none of it.

2 Corinthians 10:4  4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

September 11 Devotional

Dear Beloved Friends,

This devotional is definitely one to remember whenever we feel like having a pity party!  Keep your focus on the One who never changes and is always ready to rejoice with you no matter what!  Hugs, scott

Rejoice In Me Always!  No matter what is going on, you can rejoice in your Love-relationship with Me.  This is the secret of being content in all circumstances. So many people dream of the day when they will finally be happy: whenthey are out of debt, when their children are out of trouble, when theyhave more leisure time, and so on.  While they daydream, their momentsare trickling into the ground like precious balm spilling wastefullyfrom overturned bottles.

Fantasizing about future happiness will never bring fulfillment, because fantasy is unreality.  Even though I am invisible, I am farmore Real than the world you see around you.  My reality is eternal andunchanging.  Bring your moments to Me, and I will fill them withvibrant Joy.  Now is the time to rejoice in My Presence!

Philippians 4:4  4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Philippians 4:12  12I know what it is to be inneed, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secretof being content in any and every situation, whether well fed orhungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Psalm 102:27  27 But you remain the same,  and your years will never end.

September 10 Devotional

Dear Friends,

It was great being with you all in worship yesterday as we officially “kicked off” the fall season. We hope that many will re-establish the habit of attending worship after what can often be a sporadic summer.  Habits are an amazing aspect of our lives.  Believe it or not, you have many habits right now.  Sometimes, we accidentally slip into habits…most of them are not very good for us.  The good habits, it seems, especially at first, need to be established with determination and intentionality. Experts disagree on the # of times it takes to create a habit. Some say 21 times in a row.  Others say 1-8 months.  Whatever it is, I hope that you’ll all make a habit of attending our rehearsals on Wednesday nights and worship on Sunday mornings.  We’ve gotten some great momentum this Fall and I don’t want to loose it!  So, even if you have to miss due to work, kids or an illness, jump back in the next week.  And, don’t forget who’s ALWAYS consistent day in and day out…our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He’s always there for you!  peace and love, Scott

I Am Always Available To You.  Once you have trusted Me as yourSavior, I never distance Myself from you.  Sometimes you may feeldistant from Me.  Recognize that as feeling; do not confuse it withreality.  The bible is full of My promises to be with you always.  As Iassured Jacob, when he was journeying away from home into unknownplaces, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go.  My last recorded promise to My followers was: Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Let these assurances of My continual Presence fill you with Joy andPeace.  No Matter what you may lose in this life, you can never loseyour relationship with Me.

Isaiah 54:10  10Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet myunfailing love for you will not be shaken “nor my covenant of peace beremoved,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Genesis 28:15  15 I am with you and willwatch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land.I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

Matthew 28:20  20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

September 6 Devotional

Dear Friends,

It was great to worship with you last night! I truly enjoyed the organized chaos as together we played and sang to the glory of God. Indeed, all God’s creatures got a place in the choir, orchestra and bell ministry! I hope you’ll bring a friend or two this Sunday and recruit! I love the energy when we’re all together. It is truly exciting to be part of such a wonderful group of fine Christian folk. We depend upon each other, that’s true. I am nothing without each of you, but more importantly, we are nothing without God. When we are in His will, NOTHING can stop us! May we always and in every way be in His will, this fall, this Christmas and for year to come. Peace and Love, Scott

Do Everything in dependence on Me. The desire to act independently-apart from Me-springs from the root of pride. Self-sufficiency is subtle, insinuating its way into your thoughts and actions without your realizing it. But apart from Me, you can do nothing: that is, nothing of eternal value. My deepest desire for you is thatyou learn to depend on Me in every situation. I move heaven and earth to accomplish this purpose, but you must collaborate with Me in this training. Teaching you would be simple if I negated your free will or overwhelmed you with My Power. However, I love you too much to withdraw the godlike privilege I bestowed on you as My image-bearer. Use your freedom wisely, by relying on Me constantly. Thus you enjoy My Presence and My Peace.

John 15:5 5″I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Ephesians 6:10 10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Genesis 1:26-27 26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all theearth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;male and female he created them.

September 5 Devotional

Dear Friends,

Happy Wednesday! On holiday weeks, sometimes our days can get mixed up, so this is your friendly reminder that yes, indeed, today is Wednesday. I look forward to sharing music and life with you. We serve a loving, forgiving and amazing Lord who is with us no matter what. Let’s share the joy of this truth tonight! Peace and Love, Scott

I Am Your Best Friend, as well as your King. Walk hand in handwith Me through your life. Together we will face whatever each daybrings: pleasures, hardships, adventures, disappointments. Nothing iswasted when it is shared with Me. I can bring beauty out of the ashesof lost dreams. I can glean Joy out of sorrow, Peace out ofadversity. Only a Friend who is also the King of kings couldaccomplish this divine alchemy. There is no other like Me!

The friendship I offer you is practical and down-to-earth, yet itis saturated with heavenly glory. Living in My Presence means livingin two realms simultaneously: the visible world and unseen eternalreality. I have equipped you to stay conscious of Me while walkingalong dusty, earthbound paths.

John 15:13-15 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15Ino longer call you servants, because a servant does not know hismaster’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everythingthat I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Isaiah 61:3 3and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown ofbeauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and agarment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be calledoaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of hissplendor.

2 Corinthians 6:10 10sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

Dear Beloved Friends,

These beautiful words remind us that indeed we are never alone. No matter where you are, God is with us.  That gives me GREAT comfort, especially as we enter this new fall season.  I look forward to sharing the Good News through music with you all!  Peace and Love, Scott

In Closeness To Me, you are safe.  In the intimacy of MyPresence, you are energized.  No matter where you are in the world, youknow you belong when you sense My nearness.  Ever since the Fall, manhas experienced a gaping emptiness that only My Presence can fill.  Idesigned you for close communication with your Creator.  How I enjoyedwalking in the garden with Adam and Eve, before the evil one deceivedthem!

When you commune with Me in the garden of your heart, both you and Iare blessed.  This is My way of living in the world-through you! Together we will push back the darkness, for I am the Light of the world.

Psalm 32:7  7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Genesis 3:8-9  8 Then the man and his wifeheard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in thecool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of thegarden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”

John 8:12  12When Jesus spoke again tothe people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows mewill never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
